Is it possible to Grade Coaches?

     Concerning NHL year-end awards, deciding who is the most deserving candidate to take home (x) awards, is always a fickle question. Take the James Norris, for example. Some people would argue that unless a younger player was unquestionably the most dominant patroller of the back end, the trophy should otherwise be awarded to a previous winner. In other words, in tight races past performance matters. When it comes to the Hart purists say that it should be awarded based on the definition of the trophy (it should be awarded to the most valuable player to his team, as opposed to others who say it should go to the leagues most dominant player). But no award, in my opinion, is murkier than the Jack Adams.

Managerial Meditations: State of the Union

With the All-Star game fading quickly from my mind, its time to begin looking forward to tomorrow.  The following is part 1 of my quick hit assessment of all 30 NHL clubs.  Parts 2 and 3 will follow as the week progresses.  I hope a Calgary fans take issue with my musings so I can laugh at them!

Welcome to Puck Potpourri!  As the tagline mentions this is a new blog about hockey, and some other stuff.  We are Curt Romey and Aaron Asselstine, and we thought it might be prudent to introduce ourselves.  Hopefully you'll find our musings and rantings entertaining and informative.  At the very least we should inspire all of you in the belief that if we can do it, you can do it just as well, and likely better!  React as you see it!  We welcome all comers so your opinion is sought...and appreciated.  Read on to learn a little bit about us.
